This is the starting class for older dogs and where the puppies build on what they learnt in the Puppy Class.
This is an ongoing course, which allows enrolment at any time; during the course some of the things you will learn to teach your dog are:
- To respond quickly to his name
- To sit, lie down and stand
- To come back when called
- To walk by your side
- To stay in one place.
- To happily be around other dogs
- To be under control where there are distractions
- etc.
You will learn fun things (tricks) to do and play with your dog which all helps you to build really good relationship with your dog.
The course syllabus covers the Kennel Club’s Good Citizen Dog Scheme Bronze Award and there will be the opportunity to take the Bronze Award test when we have a suitable number of dogs ready to take the test.
For more information about the scheme and the bronze award visit the Good Citizen Dog Scheme
You will learn what your responsibilities as a dog owner are, both to your dog and to society in general.
The Beginners class is held in Elmsted Market Community Centre on a Friday evening starting at 8pm and running onto 9pm. The class costs £4 per week, with payments taken in 5 week blocks (Let Keith know if you can’t make a class and the money will roll over for the next class)
